Kids’ Chores
It’s never too early to start working with kids and giving them responsibility. Simple chores early on in child development help prepare children for bigger responsibilities later in life and help make those chores seem like a natural part of their everyday activities.
Instead of making chores seem hard, make them fun! Work alongside your child, sing songs while cleaning, make a game out of putting things away! Count the toys that you pick up or look for toys of a certain color or shape. Divide up their room so that you are working on one section and they are working on another. Make clean-up a race to see who can get done first. Let children help you clean other rooms in the house to give them a sense of importance and make them feel more grown up like mom and dad! Remember to make chores fun and never a punishment. The attitude you instill in your child about chores will follow them throughout their lives.
